Ken Bain's classic book, What the Best College Teachers Do, is the starting point for this session. Ken Bain’s research identified outstanding teachers in higher education and set out to discover what they did to engage and challenge students.
This session includes:
> What the best teachers know about how we learn
> How they prepare to teach
> What they expect of students
> How they conduct class
> How they treat students
Participants will have the opportunity to review their current practice and determine whether and how their teaching could be informed by Bain’s findings.
